Hands-on learning for residents and fellows

Residents and fellows have opportunities to do rotations in various specialties within the Marshfield Clinic system.

These include:
  • Family Practice
  • Pediatrics
  • Gynecology
  • Psychiatry
  • Surgery

In addition, you'll utilize state-of-the-art electronic medical records, see multiple types of patients and interact with many different styles of practice.

These opportunities can take place at more than 50 locations throughout our system. From the Northwoods to the Chippewa Valley to central Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic has opportunities for many types of learners.

  • Residents and Fellows have the option to choose from a number of electives. Contact a Division of Education program specialist for availability.
  • Marshfield Clinic offers housing at select sites to learners in a credited clinical rotation confirmed by the Division of Education.  Availability and rates may be obtained through working with a Student Programs education specialist.
  • Before Marshfield Clinic provides clinical experiences to learners, eligibility requirements must be approved by the Division of Education.

Student housing

Marshfield Clinic offers housing to students in a credited clinical rotation confirmed by the Division of Education at select sites. Availability and rates may be obtained through working with a Student Programs education coordinator.

Student Housing may be available at the following locations: Marshfield, Minocqua, Eau Claire, Rice Lake, and Wausau.

Rotational fee structure

All application fees are nonrefundable, and are due at the time of application. Please make payment by credit card, or check payable to Marshfield Clinic.

Please see fee structure below, effective 2/1/2022:

  • Technical/Bachelor degree - $50.00/40 hours
  • Graduate Student, Masters Prepared/PHD or Doctorate - $200/40 hours
  • Residents, Fellows, Clinicians - $400/40 hours
