Athletic trainers are educated and highly trained allied health care providers specializing in prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. ​ In cooperation with physicians and other allied health care providers, athletic trainers function as integral members of the athletic health care team within the school setting, assuring all injuries are cared for and promoting a safe return to play.
