What Wisconsin law requires
Under Wisconsin Act 172, parents, coaches and athletes must:
- Receive information about concussion signs, symptoms and risks
- Sign a statement acknowledging they understand the information and agree to report symptoms

Recognize the signs and symptoms
Concussions can happen in any sport. Common signs include:
- Headache or pressure in the head
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness or balance problems
- Confusion or memory issues
- Sensitivity to light or noise
If symptoms appear, remove the athlete from play immediately and seek medical evaluation.
