Ignoring pain won't make it go away. Home remedies often fall short. That's why when you're suffering from a muscle tear, back pain, inflamed tendons, a rotator cuff tear or any other sports-related injury, see an expert.
Sports medicine focuses on the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of sports-related injuries. Our Sports Medicine medical team may include specialists in sports medicine, orthopedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation, and primary care physicians. Your care is provided by fellowship-trained sports medicine physicians and experienced, board-certified orthopedic surgeons.
All students who participate in school-organized athletics must complete a sports fitness screening as required by the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA). The screening must be obtained prior to participating in any practice, scrimmage or game. Marshfield Clinic Health System Sports Medicine may provide comprehensive sports fitness screenings at a location near you.
Parents, coaches and children involved in organized youth sports are required by Wisconsin state law to receive information about the signs, symptoms and risks of sports related to concussion. The law also provides that parents, coaches and athletes sign a statement declaring they have received and understand the information.
Here you will find information about concussions and links to resources for coaches, athletes and families to help satisfy the requirements of the new law.
