The program received this recognition for demonstrating an objective commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients who undergo knee and hip replacement procedures.

Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval

Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire joint replacement team has achieved The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement certification.

Advanced surgical technology

With advances in technology, new tools are available to orthopedic surgeons. This smart technology allows surgeons to virtually and precisely plan surgery before entering the operating room. The 3D interactive programs uses an image of the knee, hip and shoulder from a preoperative CT scan.

National Hand Trauma Center Network member

Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield is one of two National Hand Trauma Center Network members in Wisconsin and the only center in our service area. Our highly-skilled hand specialists provide 24/7 care for hand trauma emergencies.

Level II Trauma Center

Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield is a Level II adult and pediatric trauma center. Our highly-trained teams are equipped to care for serious injuries of patients who have had car crashes, falls or farm injuries. The orthopedic trauma team is comprised of highly skilled trauma specialists who perform complex orthopedic surgery. Our experts provide advanced treatment options for difficult fracture problems in the upper and lower body. We can also provide reconstructive options for fractures that fail to heal properly including nonunion surgery and arthroplasty. The trauma center is supported by the adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilitation center, which is CARF-accredited (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).

Sports Medicine

Our sports medicine providers care for adults and children including amateur, collegiate and professional athletes. Marshfield Clinic Health System is the exclusive sports medicine provider for the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, Wisconsin Woodchucks and more than 37 school districts across the state.

ACL reconstruction surgery

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most commonly injured ligaments of the knee. Patients can usually go home the same day of the surgery and continue with physical therapy.

Diagnostic services

Diagnostic testing is available at locations convenient for you. Our fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiology team provides a depth of expertise to the treatment of diseases or injuries of the joints, bones, muscles and spine in both adult and pediatric imaging.

Surgical services

Our orthopedic surgeons use advanced surgical technologies as they offer expert care to evaluate and treat comprehensive orthopedic conditions and injuries. Our physical and occupational therapy specialists work with patients to evaluate, assess and treat limitations in functional mobility and independence. Each patient receives personalized plan that includes a variety of treatment modalities and evidence-based techniques.
