A Message from the Anesthesiology Residency Program Director

Thank you for inquiring about the Marshfield Clinic Anesthesiology Residency Program. This newly established program is now part of our existing medical training environment (Dermatology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, Pediatrics) that has graduated well over 800 trainees since 1975. The Anesthesiology Residency Program utilizes the facilities of Marshfield Clinic and Marshfield Medical Center under the supervision of the Marshfield Clinic Anesthesiology faculty.

The Anesthesiology Residency Program will be offering three categorical positions in each of the four years. We invite you to review the following information concerning what we have to offer. We are confident that our program will provide you with an excellent anesthesiology education. MCHS is a comprehensive state-of-the-art medical complex that offers:

• There are over 700 physicians in the entire MCHS in more than 80 specialties and subspecialties: this includes well over 300 physician specialists. Please see the video here to learn about the founding and growth of our system of health care. 

• A 292-bed tertiary hospital with an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, a children's hospital designation by the National Association of Children's Hospitals (NACH), certification as a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center, accreditation as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) accreditation.

• The largest private medical research institute in Wisconsin with over 400 active research projects.

• Extensive integrated computer technologies, including a state of the art medical electronic record, electronic prescribing, PACS image archive, electronic lab results, innovative  early childhood immunization registry, digital echocardiography network and telemedicine.

• Today, MCHS provides service to more than two million Wisconsin residents with over 50 health care centers, a health care plan, an information services company and 10 hospitals. Here is an example of what we've been up to in the last year.
