Dr. Joshua Dykla has always had a passion for working with children. From his early experiences with kids during high school and college, he knew he wanted to build a career centered around them.
He completed his undergraduate degree in engineering, but his love for science and desire to blend the two areas of study led him to medicine. Pediatrics, with its focus on children, was a natural fit.
Dr. Dykla received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He is board-certified in pediatrics.
In his practice, Dr. Dykla provides comprehensive care, including well-child visits, treatment for acute illnesses and management of chronic conditions. He has a particular passion for supporting children with ADHD.
“As their provider, I always speak to the child first and tailor my approach to each individual patient," he says. “I also believe in partnering with families to ensure the best care for their child."
Committed to serving his community, Dr. Dykla is proud to offer high-quality pediatric care right in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, helping families avoid long-distance travel for medical services.
Outside of work, he enjoys anything that Marquette has to offer. This includes mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country and downhill skiing and hunting. He especially loves hiking to waterfalls with his family. He has four children, three daughters and one son, and a bernedoodle named Jeter.
