"I'm a people-person. I like explaining things in a way people understand and to help better their situation."
Nurse Practitioner Heidi Korb is excited to be located at Marshfield Clinic Stevens Point Center. She has been a family nurse practitioner in the area since 2006. While in family practice, she realized that she especially enjoyed seeing people with skin concerns. In 2015, she moved into the specialty of dermatology.
"I have always liked helping people," she said. "I like to really listen to people so they know they've been heard and then explain information back to them in a way that is easy to understand."
When asked why she likes dermatology, Heidi replied, "Some medical conditions are internal and can be kept private as you deal with them. Skin conditions though, are often visible and this can really affect a person's self-esteem and their interactions with everyone around them. Being able to resolve a teenager's cystic acne or clear the skin of someone struggling with psoriasis is really rewarding."
Heidi graduated with her bachelor's degree in nursing from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1994 and her master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2006.
She is married, has three grown sons and two Golden Doodles. She loves spending time with family. You will find her at the baseball field every weekend during the summer watching her sons play.
