Emily Thomas, nurse practitioner, had always enjoyed caring for others from a young age and enjoys making a difference in people's lives.
“I was drawn to pediatric primary care because I can build long-term, trusting relationships with children and their families," Thomas said.
Thomas earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing degrees from MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts.
Thomas provides primary care and adolescent medicine for pediatric patients aged 11 and older. Her services include routine wellness visits, preventive care and treatment for common childhood illnesses. She also offers sports physicals and counseling or treatment for nutrition, exercise, sleep health, menstrual health management, contraception, and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression and substance use.
She has expertise in the unique needs of adolescents as they transition toward adulthood.
“I provide evidence-based, compassionate and developmentally appropriate care that supports wellness, prevents illness and addresses health concerns," Thomas said. “My goal is to foster trust and ensure that children and teens feel respected and heard as they grow into confident young adults."
Thomas is deeply committed to supporting children and adolescents through every stage of growth and development.
“I enjoy teaching and empowering patients and families with the knowledge they need to understand their health and make informed decisions," she said.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending quality time with her husband and daughter and relaxing up north at the lake.
