Visiting a patient
We have an open visiting policy for family members – anyone the patient regards as family. However, patient care and adequate patient rest are important.
General visitor hours and guidelines:
- To enhance quality of care, each unit has specific visiting hours. Check at the nurses’ station on each unit for visiting hours.
- People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
- Visitors should speak quietly and avoid unnecessary noise.
- Smoking or using electronic cigarettes or smokeless tobacco products is not allowed on our campus.
- We ask that visitors use sanitizer or soap and water before entering a patient's room and when leaving.
- As a visitor, you may be asked to leave the room during tests, treatments or when the care team is seeing the patient.
- Cellphone use is allowed on the medial campus. However, we do ask you to be considerate when using them.
- Weapons and firearms are prohibited from all Marshfield Clinic locations.
