A specialist in internal medicine

When he was still in medical school, Marshfield native Bart Isaacson took advantage of his summer breaks to shadow Marshfield Clinic Health System internists. "I really respected what they did," Dr. Isaacson said. "So, as I continued my education, I decided that was the career I wanted – to be a specialist in providing primary care for adults."

As an internist, Dr. Isaacson treats patients as illnesses and injuries occur, but he prefers managing issues before they become severe. "Prevention and early detection and treatment are important," he said. "Helping a patient identify and modify risk factors reduces problems down the road."

Dr. Isaacson completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and a residency in internal medicine at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is board-certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Isaacson has been in practice since 1998. He had recently moved to the Weston area just before Marshfield Clinic Weston Center opened and became an inaugural member of the staff. He, his wife and four sons live along the Eau Claire River where they enjoy hiking, swimming and other outdoor activities. His wife runs Johanna May’s Fine Teas, a local tea house.
