Dr. Lori Shepherd pursued a career in medicine as it allowed her to use her strength as a scientist to help people live healthier and more fulfilled lives.
She previously worked at Marshfield Clinic Wausau Center for 27 years and now sees pediatric patients in Eau Claire.
“I am returning to practice as I miss the sense of purpose and meaning that is part of clinical practice," she said.
She is board-certified in pediatrics. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Shepherd provides care for newborns through adolescents. This includes well-child visits, sick visits, care for children with special needs and care for chronic or ongoing medical conditions.
“I believe children are the most amazing creatures on earth. I love caring for families and having the privilege of watching them grow," she said.
Her goal is to form a close, respectful, collaborative relationship with families to promote the best care for the child.
“I love the opportunity to watch my patients grow, develop and thrive," she said.
Dr. Shepherd's husband is a retired emergency physician. They have a daughter who lives in Minneapolis and their son and his family live in London. They have two young grandchildren.
She's an outdoor enthusiast and intrepid adventure traveler. She also is an avid reader and volunteers in a community library.
