Kirsten Vetterkind is a family nurse practitioner who has a special interest in women's health, diabetes, weight management and dermatology.
“I enjoy helping my patients achieve healthier lifestyles," she said.
For her patients interested in weight loss or weight management, she encourages proactive treatment and educates on its importance.
“Obesity leads to a myriad of other chronic health conditions and focus should be on prevention and treatment early on, rather than reactive when other chronic diseases start to show, such as heart disease, diabetes and liver disease," Kirsten said.
Originally from the Wisconsin Northwoods, Kirsten attended the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. She then attained her bachelor's in nursing degree from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin and her masters in Family Health Nursing from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
Prior to joining Marshfield Clinic, she was part of a family practice in a western North Dakota oil-boom town.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. Kirsten is active in outdoor sports like downhill skiing, hunting, snowmobiling and boating.
