As a general surgeon and life-long Wisconsin resident, Dr. John Petronovich feels communication is the most important thing he needs to have with his patients.
“I want to communicate well in terms of the expectations and make sure my patients understand what the treatment process entails,” said Dr. Petronovich.
He is especially interested in working with his patients to achieve the best care and outcomes possible.
“Surgery is very gratifying because people come to you with an acute problem and you work with them until the problem is resolved. That is what drew me to surgery in the first place,” Dr. Petronovich said.
His interests include abdominal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, breast surgery, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, cancer care, endoscopy, wound care and venous disease.
“What drew me to general surgery is the breadth of surgery where I am not focusing on one particular area, but there are several areas I can focus on. That is what I liked about general surgery,” Dr. Petronovich said.
He attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin and then completed his residency at Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Dr. Petronovich enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His hobbies include doing anything outdoors, but especially gardening and playing golf.
