“I strive to build a strong rapport with my patients and be a familiar face they find comfort in."
As a hospitalist nurse practitioner, Jamie Spatz, N.P., coordinates and cares for patients of all ages and varying conditions in the inpatient hospital setting at Marshfield Medical Center.
Growing up, Jamie always knew she wanted to become a nurse and drew inspiration from her family.
“I have always had a great desire to care for others, especially the underserved," she said. “Some of my earliest memories are of my grandma telling me stories of her days working as a nurse in the hospital. Her passion for serving others and the joy she found doing so continues to inspire me."
Jamie has worked as an oncology nurse in Cancer Care & Research and certified medical assistant in Urgent Care.
“I found the hospital is where I enjoy connecting with my patients the most," she said. “As a provider I always hope to give my patients the information they need to make decisions about their health that aligns with their personal beliefs and values."
Jamie earned her master's degree as a family nurse practitioner from Chamberlain University in Chicago.
“I am dedicated to continually improving my knowledge within my nursing career in order to care for my patients with the latest evidence-based research," Jamie said.
Jamie and her husband have three children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside with her family. In summer, they enjoy camping, swimming and playing with their dogs. In winter, they enjoy sledding, snowshoeing and ice fishing. She also likes to visit different children's museums and zoos.
