IRON MOUNTAIN, MI – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has appointed Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson President Mandy Shelast to the Michigan Veterans' Facility Authority Board of Directors.
The veterans' board governs the Michigan Veterans' Facility Authority and consists of the Director of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and eight members appointed by the Governor who have professional knowledge, skill, or experience in long-term care, health care licensure or finance, or medicine.
Shelast, of Houghton, is the network president of the Michigan and South regions for Marshfield Clinic region of Sanford Health. She is the former president of the National Association of Rural Health Clinics. Shelast holds a bachelor's in community development and a master's in health services administration from Central Michigan University.
“I am honored to have been appointed to this role," Shelast said. “I look forward to working with fellow board members to serve our Michigan veterans."
Her term began Oct. 14 and expires April 15, 2029. Shelast succeeds Kenneth Robbins, whose term expired. Her appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
