New Year newborns; 2023 baby stats and trending names

2024 is here! Marshfield Clinic Health System birth centers are welcoming their first babies of the year, and reflecting on the new life that came into the world in 2023.

 

Beaver Dam Birth Center

Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam hasn't had their first baby of the New Year as of Jan. 4, and numbers are still being tallied as Jan. 4.

Dickinson Birth Center

Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson welcomed t​heir first baby of the New Year, Peter James​, of par​ents Abby and Kevin Kretz.​ He was delivered by Adam Ryan, M.D., at 9:51 a.m. Jan. 2, weighing  7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. 


Eau Claire Birth Center

Charlotte “Lottie" Ryan Fasbender was the first baby born at Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire. She arrived at 7:35 a.m., Jan. 1, to Kalana and Chad Fasbender, weighing 9 pounds, 5 ounces and 21.5 inches long. She has two older brothers, Hunter and Cooper.

Eau Claire had 446 births for 2023, including 234 boys and 212 girls with 10 sets of twins. The largest baby of the year was just over 11 pounds and the smallest was 4.12 pounds. The most popular names for Eau Claire included Raelyn/Raelynn, Lainey/Lainee/Laney, Maggie and Hannah for a girl and Oliver, Theodore and Greyson for a boy.

Marshfield Birth Center

Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield had their New Year baby at 6:41 p.m., Jan. 2. Remington Pettis was born weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and 19.5 inches, to parents Matthew and Melissa Petti. He joins his two siblings, Taelyn and Kingstin. 

In 2023, Marshfield Birth Center had 990 births for 2023, 494 boys and 496 girls, and 30 sets of multiples. Most popular names in Marshfield included Liam, Henry and Grayson/Greyson for boys and Madeline/Madelyn, Lily and Adelynn for girls.

Minocqua Birth Center

Marshfield Medical Center-Minocqua welcomed their New Year baby​ Tripp Pydo, at 7:18 p.m., Jan. 2. Tripp weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long.

In 2023, Minocqua Birth Center had 222 births with 104 boys and 118 girls, and two sets of twins. The largest baby was 10 pounds, 3 ounc​es and the smallest was 3 pounds, 8 ounces. Most popular names for the year includ​ed Benjamin and several others in second for boys and Delilah (Delylah), Eleanor, Lily and Luna for girls.

Rice Lake Birth Center​

Marshfield Medical Center-Rice Lake welcomed their New Year baby Harringon John Orf, to parents Cecelia and Connor Orf, at 6:12 p.m., Jan. 3. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long. Harrington joins his big brother, Ryan, who is 16-months old. 

Rice Lake Birth Center delivered 345 babies in 2023, with 175 boys and 170 girls. The largest baby was 13 pounds, 1 ounce​​ and smallest was 3 pound, 13 ounces. Hudson, Maverick and Maxwell were popular boy's name and Ava, Avery and Raelyn were the top girl's name for Rice Lake.

Weston Birth Center​

Marshfield Medical Center-Weston welcomed Xavi at 1:15 a.m., Jan. 1, weighing 9 pounds, 12 ounces and 22.5 inches long. Baby Xavi joins his big sister at home.

Weston Birth Center had 411 babies during 2023 with 214 boys and 197 girls, including four sets of twins. The smallest baby was 4.3 pounds and the largest weighed 10.44 pounds. The popular names included Violet, Sophia, Mia, Emma, Eleanor, Charlotte and Brooklyn for girls and Parker was top for boys, followed by Hudson, Noah, Theodore and Wesley.
