Marshfield Clinic Health System is pleased to announce that it's planning to open Marshfield Medical Center-Minocqua by the first week of July.
"We're excited to move closer to bringing the community a new, state-of-the-art hospital that will expand on the high-quality health care we've provided in Minocqua for the past three decades," said David Olejniczak, the hospital's chief administrative officer.
Olejniczak added: "We made the decision in early April to temporarily delay the anticipated April opening to reallocate staffing and resources in anticipation of a surge in COVID-19 patients. An April opening also required regulatory reviews not available to us due to the statewide impact of COVID-19. Since that time, we've been communicating with regulators and, with the relatively low prevalence of COVID-19 in the community and stable volume of PPE, testing and other supplies, we are in a strong position to move forward."
The full-service facility will be designed to accommodate the latest technological advances in health care and will feature:
- Private inpatient rooms
- Full surgical suite with operating rooms and procedure rooms including:
- DaVinci surgical robot that allows for precise imaging and placement, leading to smaller incisions and faster recovery times.
- Birthing center with private rooms for labor and delivery (LDRP) and a dedicated C-section room for planned and urgent deliveries.
- Emergency department, imaging and lab services, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, and more.
Marshfield Clinic Health System is committed to bringing specialty care to the Minocqua community. With access to over 90 specialties within the Health System, patients are able to receive health care where, when and how they want it.
