Samariah Conway, MD

A specialist in general surgery

Samariah Conway, MD, is a general surgeon who treats patients with gastrointestinal diseases such as appendicitis, gallbladder disease, bowel obstructions, diverticular disease, in addition to hernias, skin/soft tissue disease, and disorders of the breast.

A love for anatomy and working with her hands led Dr. Conway to becoming a surgeon.

“I love the challenge using my brain to understand and find solutions but also being able to put my hands to use to help my patients feel better,” she said.

Caring for people who live in rural areas was also a key draw for Dr. Conway. “Being in a rural community feels like coming home," she said. “I think about my family, and how I would want to explain things if they were sick," she said.

Dr. Conway feels educating her patients about their conditions and treatment options is important, so they are informed and able to collaborate in their care plan.

“My patients are my neighbors," Dr. Conway said. “It's important for me to provide care in a way that makes sense to the people I'm helping.”

While not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves spending time outdoors, visiting the area lakes for fishing and camping.
