A Specialist in Internal Medicine
Dr. Mesfin Abera is an internal medicine physician who cares for complex chronic conditions like hypertension, asthma, COPD and diabetes, and offers preventative care like routine wellness visits, medication management and more.
"I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the intricacies of the human body and its functions," Dr. Abera said. "It was during my clinical rotation in Internal Medicine that I developed the true passion for medicine. It requires compassion, discipline and hard work, which are my strengths."
Providing the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for challenging conditions are of particular interest for Dr. Abera. In addition to routine screenings and counseling, Dr. Abera performs office procedures such as joint injections, skin biopsies, cryotherapy and more.
Dr. Abera earned his Doctor of Medicine from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, where he also served his internal medicine residency. Dr. Abera also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University.
