Andrea Peterson, DO

Dr. Andrea Peterson treats a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, peripheral nerve injuries and spine disorders. She performs EMG and nerve conduction studies to help diagnose nerve and muscle disorders. "Our profession has a primary goal of restoring functional ability and improving quality of life," she said.

Dr. Peterson joined Marshfield Clinic Health System in 2003. Having grown up in Eau Claire, she was well aware of the Clinic System’s reputation for quality care and personalized attention. In her own practice, she said, "It’s important to listen and acknowledge people’s concerns. I want them to be actively involved as we discuss options that are best suited for their specific needs." She also provides treatment at Marshfield’s outreach clinic in Wisconsin Rapids.

Acting on an early interest in physical therapy, Dr. Peterson earned her medical degree from Des Moines University - College of Osteopathic & Health Sciences. She completed her internship at Michigan State University - Ingham Regional Medical Center, Lansing, and her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Indiana University-Medical Center, Indianapolis. She is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Dr. Peterson has helped edit a standard textbook and a handbook on physical medicine and rehabilitation.

She and her husband, Scott, have three children. She enjoys spending time with her children, outings at the family’s cabin and running with friends.
