“I believe the most important elements in providing good patient care is taking the time to understand and listen to my patients."
Anne Zenner is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who diagnoses and treats orthopedic disorders of the upper and lower extremities.
She administers joint injections and performs aspirations (removing fluid from a joint to ease pain or aid in diagnosis). Zenner treats the full range of injuries, including fitting splints and braces to affected extremities.
Listening and understanding patients' needs and lifestyle are key to patient care. “A treatment plan that doesn't coincide with a patient's ability to follow through with, or it doesn't align with their values, is not an effective treatment plan," Zenner said. “I strongly believe in shared decision making and educating patients with the best information we have available. I want patients to feel confident when making an informed decision that aligns with their personal needs and values."
Zenner has always enjoyed helping people. “I love seeing patient's quality of life, their pain, their concern, alleviate or improve," she said. "I feel it is an honor to be able to have that type of impact on another person's life."
With roots in rural Wisconsin and a large extended family, Marshfield Clinic Health System has impacted the health and well-being of Zenner's family. “I wanted to be part of that mission and to give back to my community in an impactful way," she said.
Zenner earned her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She also earned a Master in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium.
While not at work she enjoys spending time with her children, extended family and friends. Zenner stays busy attending sporting events, being involved in her community and enjoying the outdoors with the beautiful seasons Wisconsin has to offer.
