"I understand the need for physical therapy firsthand. My experiences formed my career."

Provider Bio down arrow

Tom Katz, physical therapist, sees patients and athletes of all ages. He specializes in sports medicine, pitching and throwing injuries and general orthopedic therapy.

Although working as a physical therapist wasn't always the goal, seeing people get back to doing what they love is one of the reasons Tom Katz is so passionate about the field.

"I love to help people the best I can," he said. "My goal is to provide compassion combined with expert care. I may not have all the answers, but we will get them. I truly care about each person and their well-being."

Tom had no plans to work in health care until he was a senior in college.

"My plan starting college was to be a high school biology and chemistry teacher and a high school baseball coach," Tom said. "After my freshman year in college, where I pitched for Marian University, I hurt my shoulder. My older sister was a physical therapist and helped me through a shoulder injury which took me seven months to recover from."

Tom got back to his passion of pitching, and developed a second passion during his therapy.

"The success of this experience got me thinking that this is something I want to do for others," he said.

He received his Master's in Physical Therapy degree from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Tom sees patients and athletes of all ages. He works with highly competitive athletes, weekend warriors, recreational athletes and people with active lifestyles.

Tom especially enjoys the overhead athlete – people who use their upper arm and shoulder playing sports – and has a focus on pitching injuries.

He is educated in both National Pitching Association and Driveline Baseball pitching mechanics.

His goal is to get his patients back to being active and back to the life they love.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing and loves sports. He and his wife, Angie, have been married for more than 25 years and have two children, Abby and Isaiah.
