Amber Nguyen was driven by a genuine sincerity to help people, an opportunity to make positive impacts on individuals and a passion for medical science when she pursued a career in health care.
“This allows me autonomy to fulfill my ambition to help others either during their most vulnerable time of sickness or as preventive measure to health and well-being," she said.
Nguyen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Chamberlain University.
As a family medicine nurse practitioner, she helps diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic disease while emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. This includes care for hypertension, diabetes, acne, respiratory infections, asthma and more. She has expertise in contraceptive counseling, Pap smears and tests, Wood's lamp workup for corneal abrasion, cryotherapy/skin tag excision and cerumen dis-impaction.
She strives to empower patients to take an active role in making changes to their health.
“I am committed to lifelong learning. I will focus on patient education and lifestyle modifications when it comes to managing chronic conditions," she said.
She wants to get to know her patients and their unique health care situations.
“I like to approach and treat each of my patient encounters as an individual, not a number," she said. “So, I will start with kindness."
As a provider, Nguyen will be transparent with diagnoses, treatment plans and potential outcomes.
“I want to be the provider who makes each of my patient's concerns feel like it is adequately heard and cared for," she said.
She is married with two young daughters. Her husband is Chinese descent, and she is pure-blooded Vietnamese. Along with spending time with her family, she enjoys walking, cooking and decompressing at the end of the day with yoga. She enjoys the little things in life, like the changes of the seasons, a hot cup of coffee or the warmth of the sun shining through her skin.
