“I want to help my patients achieve their goals and get back to their normal function.”

Growing up, Stephanie Edwards helped care for her grandfather after he had a stroke. Seeing his path to recovery inspired her to explore a career in health care. She job shadowed, gained more experience and decided occupational therapy and specializing in hands was the right place for her.

“My grandpa and parents went to occupational therapy. Seeing what they experienced and the successes they had from therapy drew me in,” Stephanie said.

Stephanie is happy to join Marshfield Clinic Health System since growing up in Wisconsin Rapids. She knew its reputation for excellence in care.

As an occupational therapist, she helps patients who have upper extremity dysfunction, including hands, elbow, shoulder and wrist. She works with fractures, rotator cuff repairs and post-op therapy. “I really enjoy working with post-ops and making splints, which can be difficult, but it’s also the most rewarding in the end,” she said.

Stephanie hopes her patients feel that she listens to their needs and feels she’s a creative problem solver who thinks outside of the box when finding the right treatment path. “It’s special to have patients start at nonfunctioning levels and see what a difference therapy can make when they can get back to what they want to do,” she said.

She earned her Masters of Health Science at Augusta University in Georgia.

In their free time, Stephanie and her husband enjoy getting outdoors for four wheeling, playing tennis, swimming and enjoying nature.
