Sophie Westrud is a women's health nurse practitioner who provides care for a wide variety of reproductive conditions for adults and adolescents. Her comprehensive care includes prenatal and postnatal care, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, birth control counseling, vaginitis and STD testing, menstrual cycle irregularities, pain with intercourse, breast health issues, miscarriage follow-up, perimenopause and hormone replacement therapy.
“I want to empower women like those who surrounded me and be a source of support and encouragement," Westrud said.
Her goal is to establish relationships to help her patients feel at ease during their care. “I believe in compassionate listening and forming individualized plans for patients to meet their goals," she said.
Westrud can support her patients throughout their health journey. “I am especially passionate about providing care to adolescents, including birth control counseling and sexual health information," she said. “I am also honored by the privilege of following a patient from pre-conception counseling to prenatal care and postnatal care."
Outside of work Westrud enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Westrud earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
