“I like to see my patients grow and develop after I correct their problem.”

Provider Bio down arrow

Dr. Samarjit Jaglan is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon treating newborns through teenagers for bone and joint problems.

Dr. Jaglan knew early in his training that he wanted to be a surgeon. He settled on pediatric orthopedic surgery during his residency after observing how a mentor took care of his young patients, as well as their parents. “I liked his demeanor, how he made the parents and children happy, and I decided I wanted to take care of kids.” He went on to complete advanced training in pediatric orthopedics.

Working with children as young as newborns, he sees everything from complex scoliosis and cerebral palsy to broken bones and club feet. He likes to make a manageable game plan with families who in some cases are facing a lifetime of surgeries to correct a deformity.

It’s especially satisfying when a child he has treated goes on through the teenage years and on into adulthood. “They can lead a normal life after we fix their problem. Some of my patients have gotten married and now have kids of their own,” he noted.

Dr. Jaglan earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

He enjoys golfing and traveling and enjoys Chicago’s many dining and cultural entertainment opportunities. He and his wife have four children.
