Nicole Phillips is a family nurse practitioner specializing in wound healing. She treats patients with wounds from trauma or surgery, ulcers and skin irritation. Phillips also delivers hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
When she was just a kid, Phillips set her sights on the medical field.
“I took a first aid class in junior high with my mom and I enjoyed it," Phillips said. “By my high school years, I knew I wanted to be in medicine because I loved caring for people and there is always something new to learn."
Wound care was one of the first specialties Phillips worked in as a nurse practitioner. She enjoys the variety and the chance to get to know her patients on a deeper level.
“I fell in love with treating people and following their care, which I was unable to do as a hospital nurse," Phillips said. “I am able to treat wounds and the person as a whole. I feel like wound care chose me."
Phillips earned her master's in nursing at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon. She attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette for her bachelor's degree.
Phillips is happily married with two children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, hunting for rocks along the lake shore and reading.
