Nikki Anderson, pediatric developmental and behavioral health nurse practitioner, sees patients with ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression and cares for NICU graduates.

Caring for the 'little people' and their families is important to Nikki Anderson. As a pediatric developmental and behavioral health provider, she enjoys working closely with her patients and helping them live happy and healthy lives.

Anderson previously worked in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield for five years.

“Working in the NICU made me realize that working with the little people is where I'm supposed to be. They have a special place in my heart," she said.

She received her master's of science in nursing degree from Walden University.

She sees pediatric patients for ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression and cares for NICU graduates to help assess their developmental milestones.

“Throughout my clinicals I noticed how much of a need there is for behavioral health, and there's an increase in anxiety and depression in these kids…I wanted to help how I can and get them the treatment they need to help them be happy and healthy again," she said.

She works to establish a trusting relationship with her patients and their family.

“Patient care should be not only patient-centered, but family-centered, too, especially caring for a population who is young and vulnerable," she said. “I strive to involve families in making medical decisions for their child."

Anderson is passionate about providing care to her patients.

“I am most looking forward to seeing patients grow and thrive and meet their milestones," she said.

She's also proud to provide care in Marshfield and work in the community she calls home.

“I was a NICU graduate, so coming back and working as a nurse here, and even working with some of the nurses who took care of me as a baby, means a lot to me," she said.

Outside of work, Anderson enjoys spending time with her family – her husband and two sons – and friends. She enjoys being outdoors and going to sporting events.
