Nurse Practitioner Michael Darr first got into medicine so that he could help care for individuals. Although he enjoyed being a nurse, he always felt like he could do more.
“I am most passionate about the patient and trying to provide the best care for them,” he said. “I like trying to identify the problem to the patient’s illness so that I can properly treat them.”
Michael chose to work in primary care because he enjoys the diversity of patients and conditions. He treats a wide range of ailments from a common sinus infection or sore throat, to cardiac and respiratory problems.
He feels it is important to have a caring personality and good knowledge base as a provider. Ever since he was young, Marshfield Clinic Health System has been known as a leader within health care.
Michael is proud to care for patients in the Wausau community.
Michael earned a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner from Herzing University in Menomonee Falls.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family in the outdoors and making maple syrup.
