“I believe working as a team with parents to provide the best care for their children is imperative."
Dr. Peg Link was inspired to pursue medicine after realizing her previous career in safety and health at an oil refinery didn't allow her to make the personal impact she desired.
“I now get to be directly involved with the care of children, which has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined," she said.
Dr. Link earned her medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and completed her pediatric residency at Marshfield Clinic.
“I fell in love with pediatrics after my rotation in medical school. Children are so innocent, yet so resilient. I never looked back," she said.
She sees children throughout their childhood for general pediatric care in Rice Lake. This includes providing well-child visits and preventive care, treating acute illnesses or injuries and managing ongoing or chronic conditions.
Teamwork is at the heart of Dr. Link's approach to care.
“I believe working as a team with parents to provide the best care for their children is imperative to ensuring children are taken care of to the best of our ability," she said.
Dr. Link also finds meaning in advocating for her young patients.
“I truly enjoy listening to children and their families to fully understand their concerns," she said. “That connection helps us find the best solutions together."
Outside of work, Dr. Link enjoys life with her husband, Kraig, and their three children. They also have two labradors and one cat.
