Dr. Lopa Kabir-Islam, a board-certified internal medicine physician, works with her patients on preventative health care, in addition to their health concerns. She prefers to discuss with her patients lifestyle options prior to starting medication, and gives personalized care when making therapeutic changes.
Dr. Kabir manages diseases like hypertension, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and osteoarthritis, to name a few.
In addition, she is available for annual female breast and pelvic exams, and provides care during and after menopause. She also has special interest in bone health, including osteoporosis screening for prevention and management.
Dr. Kabir completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Mercy Health System in Philadelphia followed by the former St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She is a member of the American Medical Women’s Association and American Medical Association. She has been recognized as a Fellow of American College of Physicians.
Dr. Kabir and her husband have two children. When she has free time, she likes to travel to connect with family around the world. Social work, music, gardening, volunteering at local schools, being involved in community events and sharing her time and talent with charitable organizations are her passion.
