"I like being the stable person in a patient's medical arena. I want my patients to feel comfortable coming to me with questions or concerns."
Kellsey Provos, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner (FNP), specializes in preventative care and treating acute and chronic conditions for people of all ages.
Provos was exposed to nursing at a young age when she attended appointments for a medical condition her sister was facing. Inspired by the compassion the nursing staff displayed to both her sister and her family, she decided to pursue nursing as a profession.
In her practice, her main objective is to be there for her patients and help get them to where they need to be. “I feel that one of the most important elements in providing care is being nonjudgmental and compassionate," she said.
Provos is no stranger to patient care and working with families. Before earning her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), Provos began her journey in health care working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was always looking for opportunities to do more for the patients she served and furthered her education becoming a Registered Nurse working as an Operating Nurse for five years.
“I wanted to follow my patients from beginning of diagnosis through the end of their treatment," shared Provos. “Family Medicine felt like the right fit for me, because I had a desire to be with my patients throughout every step of their journey."
Working in the Ladysmith community, Provos is now closer to family having grown up in Eau Claire. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and yellow lab. Reading and traveling are also favorite pastimes.
