“I exhibit compassion and support with every encounter
for not only my patients, but their families, too.”
Jennifer James says she entered health care as a registered nurse simply with the intent to help heal. For several years, that gratifyingly involved newborn babies and their mothers.
“For 15 years, my passion was maternal/newborn nursing," said James. “As I became an expert in my specialty, I wanted to continue my journey as a lifelong learner and expand my knowledge, so I pursued my advanced degree as a nurse practitioner."
As a family nurse practitioner, patients now seek her care for acute illnesses, chronic conditions and concerns related to preventative care like cancer screenings and immunizations. She covers the full spectrum of health concerns across all ages.
“My philosophy as a nurse practitioner is to provide holistic, individualized, quality care to my patients while recognizing their diversities," said James. “I feel strong interpersonal communication skills are vital to building a trusting rapport with patients, which sets the foundation for developing evidence-based treatment plans resulting in positive outcomes."
When she's not at work, James enjoys spending time with her family exploring Wisconsin's Northwoods. That includes UTV trail riding, swimming, boating and hiking.
