Janie Grindland, physician assistant, was drawn to medicine by her interest in how the body works and how small changes can significantly affect overall health.
“I am especially motivated by the fact that medicine is constantly evolving, allowing me to challenge myself daily while continuously learning and growing," Janie said.
Janie received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
“I found it difficult to choose a single specialty because I genuinely enjoyed many areas of medicine," she said. “I ultimately chose family medicine because it allows me to work with individuals from all walks of life and manage a variety of conditions."
Janie provides care to patients of all ages, offering routine preventive exams, immunizations and health screenings. She also treats mental health concerns, acute issues such as respiratory infections and minor injuries, and chronic conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma.
“My approach to care is rooted in building genuine relationships with patients and treating them as whole people, not just a diagnosis," Janie said. “I value taking the time to listen to their concerns, get to know them and understand what matters most to them. I believe that feeling heard and supported is essential to effective care, and I strive to create a welcoming, trusting environment where patients feel comfortable and involved in their health decisions."
She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and truly listening to their concerns.
“I value the continuity of care in following patients throughout their life and supporting them through different stages of life," she said. “I especially enjoy empowering patients by giving them autonomy and actively involving them in their health care decisions."
Outside of work, Janie plays a lot of volleyball, pickleball and golf.
