“I enjoy getting to know my patients
personally – learn their strengths and
areas of need, so I know better how to
help them be successful.”
Occupational Therapist Gloria Josephson has always had an interest in therapy and helping others for as long as she can remember. She has worked at our hospital for more than 20 years, along with outpatient pediatric experience prior. Through it all, she knew she wanted to be in Marshfield.
“This is my home,” Gloria said. “I grew up in Marshfield, and I wanted my family to grow up in Marshfield.”
Gloria primarily cares for specialty clinic patients, but also works in our hospital’s pediatric therapy, which covers a wide range of patients from NICU to general service pediatrics and outpatients.
“I love working with kids and families,” she said. “I especially like helping kids develop the skills they need to be more successful. I also help children receive the adaptive equipment they need to progress.”
Coming from a big family with six brothers and six sisters, Gloria puts a strong emphasis on the importance of family-centered care. She alternates between the medical offices and hospital to continue care with her patients and make sure they have a familiar face through therapy.
Outside of work, Gloria enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, both who are pursuing medical careers. The couple also has a foreign exchange daughter from Switzerland, who Gloria said is “part of her family.” She likes to travel, garden, hike and fish, and enjoys any event or outdoor activity with her family.
