“I treat all my patients the way I would want my family members to be treated."
Cora Weisshahn, cardiology nurse practitioner, chose a career practicing cardiology after growing up with family members who had cardiac issues.
“I became intrigued with the specialty and haven't looked back," she said.
She received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
In her practice, she treats all her patients the way she would want her family members to be treated. She also works to ensure that her patients and their family members know all they can about their condition so they can make the best health care decisions for them.
“I love interacting with my patients and listening to them," she said. “We see cardiac patients at their worst time. Trying to help them through their care or treatment and to gain their trust is an amazing feeling, but seeing them later and seeing how they pulled through is the most gratifying part of my practice."
Outside of work, Weisshahn enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, scuba diving and spending time with her family.
