Carley Vento, nurse practitioner, has always been interested in the field of nursing and medicine. During childhood, her parents had owned a medical staffing agency in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and she had been integrated into the medical field from a young age.
“I enjoyed hearing stories about the compassionate nursing staff my parents worked with and decided I wanted to pursue a career in nursing and provide care for others," she said.
Carley received her doctoral degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She is board-certified in adult-gerontology primary care with previous work experience in primary care and hospital-based medicine. She now provides care in pulmonary medicine.
She sees and treats patients in the outpatient setting. She sees patients for conditions and treatments including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), tobacco dependence assistance and lung nodules.
She feels the most important element in providing care is using a patient-centered care model.
“I encourage active collaboration and shared decision-making with patients, families and members of the health care team to customize and manage a comprehensive care plan," she said.
Outside of her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, walking her dogs and traveling to Arizona to visit family.
