“I enjoy being able to treat a patient’s injury, watch it heal and see that patient get back to what they love.”
Dr. Aundrea Rainville is a board-certified hand surgeon who treats a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, sprains, fractures, overuse injuries, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, cubital tunnel syndrome and De Quervain’s tenosynovitis (a condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist).
Her love of science and helping others led Dr. Rainville to pursue a career in medicine. “I love the intricacies of the hand and upper extremity, and enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems,” she said.
Dr. Rainville believes every patient is unique and deserves personalized care. She takes time to understand each patient’s concerns and works collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that fits their individual needs and goals. “Treatment for the same condition can look very different depending on the patient’s lifestyle and priorities,” she said.
Dr. Rainville earned her medical degree from University of Minnesota, Saint Paul Campus. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After residency, Dr. Rainville continued her studies with a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.
Outside of work, Dr. Rainville enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and hiking. She and her husband have three daughters.
