Roger Jagow has a passion for helping
people that continues years after he
embarked on a social work career. His
flourishing practice at the Eau Claire
Riverview Center is a testament to the
unwavering lessons he learned at a
young age: embrace core values, work
together and show concern for others. He
demonstrates that concern on a daily basis,
working with all age groups to navigate
life’s challenges.
Roger earned his undergraduate degree
in 1973 and, after a short time treating
emotionally disturbed children at a
residential care facility, Roger returned to
graduate school to complete his master’s degree in 1977 from State University of New York at Buffalo. There were plenty of career opportunities on the East Coast, but Roger was drawn to Wisconsin. It turned out to be a great choice because he never left.
Roger, who grew up on a farm in New York, found the state to his liking because it reminded him of where he was raised. He spent the past three decades seeing behavioral health patients, first for several outpatient mental health clinics before joining Marshfield Clinic in 2000. His practice at the Eau Claire Riverview Center has utilized an array of therapeutic approaches to achieve successful patient outcomes. “My goals for therapy are to assist patients to problem-solve and develop strategies to address their concerns so they can lead fuller, functional, positive lives.”
Married with three grown children and two grandchildren, Roger’s way of relaxing is camping, traveling, reading, antiquing and escaping to the northwoods. “I grew up on a small farm in a multi-generational family,” he said. “Life centered on family and the local community, much as it does here in western Wisconsin.”
