Dr. Peter Lee, dermatologic (Mohs) surgeon, specializes in the treatment of skin cancers including melanoma, basal and squamous cell carcinoma and other neoplasms of the skin.
Dr. Peter Lee is an expert in surgical removal of skin cancers and advanced reconstructive techniques. He has over 20 years of experience in his specialty and has performed over tens of thousands of cases.
"As a dermatologic surgeon, I am the dermatologist, the pathologist, and the surgeon in treating my patients," he said. "I treat each patient with the utmost care and respect as if she or he is my own family member. My goal is to treat everyone equally with the highest respect and care."
Dr. Lee received his combined medical and doctorate degrees at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, both part of Harvard Medical School, in Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed two fellowships in Boston and Minneapolis, including a Mohs College fellowship with rigorous dermatologic surgical training.
"Dermatology is an ideal field for me. I'm a visual person who likes to use creative and artistic skills in my treatment and reconstructive plans," he said.
Dr. Lee is fellowship trained and skilled in Mohs surgery, a precise technique used to examine skin cancer removal by examining the entire margin of the tissue removed. Following the cancer removal, Dr. Lee is an expert in reconstructive technique and has many international publications regarding advanced reconstructive techniques.
Dr. Lee also sees and treats patients with history of melanoma and skin cancers, atypical (dysplastic) moles, sun damaged skin, actinic keratosis and other skin diseases. He especially enjoys working with melanoma patients.
"I am passionate about spreading the word that skin cancer and melanoma are real healthcare crises and we need to protect our skin from ultraviolet damage," Dr. Lee said.
Outside of work, Dr. Lee enjoys cooking and outdoor activities like running, walking, and golfing.
"My wife Lori and I are excited to join the Marshfield Clinic Health System family and the Eau Claire community, where people are relaxed and enjoy their lifestyles."
Dr. Lee and his wife have four grown children and one granddaughter.
