Dr. John R. Simmons is a board certified radiation oncologist who specializes in providing the most advanced and evidencebased radiation therapy to cancer patients. He joined Marshfield Clinic Health System in the Fall of 2017.

Dr. Simmons has treated patients for 19 years and maintained a dual certification in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology and the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology.

He completed a fellowship at the Seattle Prostate Institute thru the American Brachytherapy Society in 2006.

Over the years, Dr. Simmons has held several leadership roles at the local and national levels, and he has lectured numerous times at the national level with the American Osteopathic Associations.

Dr. Simmons also played an active role in writing the guidelines for residency training with the American Osteopathic College of Radiology.

“I am excited to be a team member of Cancer Care at Marshfield Clinic Health System, including the work done with the Cancer Care and Research Center,” he said. “Living in Northern Wisconsin allows me to enjoy all four seasons and the outdoor lifestyle I enjoy.”
