"I want patients to feel comfortable and have trust in me, and I want them to have confidence in me as their doctor."
Dr. Jason Patzwald entered medicine to help people, and as an OB/GYN, he has the opportunity develop long-term relationships with his patients. During a woman's pregnancy he cares for well-woman and basic health issues. "I get to be a part of their pregnancy and help bring life into the world. I am there every step of the way," he said.
In his practice, Dr. Patzwald performs low-risk and high-risk deliveries. He is qualified to manage gynecologic conditions and perform gynecologic surgeries, including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic. He also helps patients with pelvic floor issues, pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence surgery. He works with women with evaluations of infertility, tubal ligation reversals, fertility treatments, and performs inseminations.
Dr. Patzwald believes in being an advocate and strives to be a good listener and educator. "I feel the most important elements in patient care are compassion and empathy," he said. He helps patients so they can make informed health care decisions for themselves and their family.
He earned his medical degree from Des Moines University – College of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in Iowa. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to his start at Marshfield Clinic Health System, Dr. Patzwald served on active duty as a captain in the United States Army.
Outside of work, Dr. Patzwald enjoys spending time outdoors and golfing. He also loves to cook and experiment with different styles of cuisine. He and his wife have their "Brady Bunch" with six children (three boys and three girls).
