Dr. James Mullen joined the Marshfield Clinic
in 2011, however, he has been providing
physical medicine and rehabilitation services
to the Northwoods since 1992.
Dr. Mullen is a graduate of the University of
Wisconsin-Madison where he completed his
medical degree and doctoral course work
in Exercise Physiology. At State University
of New York, Buffalo, he completed an
Internal Medicine internship as well as his
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency
at State University of New York, Buffalo, NY.
He is also a Diplomate of the American
Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
His professional affiliations include the
American Academy of Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation, American College of Sports
Medicine, and the Wisconsin Medical Society.
He is board certified in Sports Medicine. His interest stems from his past personal experiences as an athlete. He has many personal athletic accomplishments. He was
a six-time member U.S. National Speedskating Team, he also has had multiple top 200 finishes in the American Birkebeiner and is
still actively racing, and was inducted in
March, 2007, into the Wisconsin Soccer Association Hall of Fame.
Dr. Mullen and his family are very involved in wellness and physical activity events in
the Minocqua area and have a vested interest
in the health and well-being of their community.
He enjoys working toward sport enhancement
with athletes and injury prevention as well as rehabilitation when necessary. Dr. Mullen works with patients of all ages and abilities enabling them to make the most of their functional capabilities and well-being.
