Dr. James Mullen joined Marshfield Clinic
Health System in 2011; however, he has
been providing physical medicine and
rehabilitation services to the Northwoods
since 1992.
He enjoys working toward sport
enhancement with athletes and injury
prevention as well as rehabilitation when
necessary. Dr. Mullen works with patients
of all ages and abilities, enabling them
to make the most of their functional
capabilities and well-being.
Dr. Mullen is a graduate of the University
of Wisconsin-Madison where he
completed his medical degree and
doctoral course work in Exercise
Physiology. He completed an Internal
Medicine internship and his Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at
State University of New York, Buffalo.
He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American College of Sports Medicine and the Wisconsin Medical Society.
Dr. Mullen is board-certified in Sports Medicine. His interest stems from his past experiences as an athlete. He was a six-time member U.S. National Speedskating Team. He has multiple top 200 finishes in the American Birkebeiner, a cross-country ski race, and is still actively racing. Dr. Mullen was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Association Hall of Fame in March 2007.
Dr. Mullen and his family are very involved in wellness and physical activity events in the Minocqua area and have a vested interest in the health and well-being of their community.
