As a nurse practitioner, Candy Strey,
F.N.P., will help monitor your condition
for changes or improvements. This
includes providing updates on lab work,
imaging and answering questions.
She tries to do this in an easy-going,
relaxed way, and incorporates humor
when appropriate to help put her
patients at ease.
“I am always impressed by our patients’
courage and resiliency. The intensity of
cancer treatments can be overwhelming,
so I like to focus on how to keep patients
as healthy as possible throughout their
treatment journey,” Candy said.
She spent 14 years as a nurse in an
inpatient cancer unit, but found she wanted
to be more involved in patients’ overall
health. After completing her master’s
degree as a family nurse practitioner, she joined Cancer Care and Research at Marshfield Clinic Health System.
“I enjoy the collaborative approach within our entire oncology team,” she said.
Candy is a native of Withee in nearby Clark County. She completed her master’s degree online with the University of Cincinnati, and was able to do the clinical portion of the training locally.
“I grew up in this area, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to provide care for patients in our rural communities,” she said.
She enjoys spending time with her family, fishing and reading.
