Pre-Medical and Pre-Allied Health Student Opportunities
Marshfield Clinic understands that undergraduate students are plagued with not only the choice of which major to choose but the question “Is this career for me?” The pressure is especially great as these students look at the graduate education choices that will come. Marshfield Clinic is also sensitive to the growing shortage of health care professionals. Marshfield Clinic has provided two ways for pre~med and pre~allied health care students to get an up close look at various health care professions.
Marshfield Clinic hosts the Annual Pre~Med and Pre~Allied Health Winter Experience to students at participating University of Wisconsin campuses. This experience takes place during the first two weeks in January when students are on their winter break. It is specifically geared to pre~medical and pre~physician assistant students.
There are also less formal ways for undergraduate students to catch a glimpse of a health care professional’s workday by applying for an observational experience through Marshfield Clinic’s Division of Education. Many students are able to complete prerequisite requirements for some graduate programs like Physical Therapy by applying for an observation experience.
