Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a highly contagious virus that causes inflammation in the lower airways. While most people recover in a few weeks, RSV can be serious. Infants and older adults are most likely to develop severe RSV symptoms that may require hospitalization.

RSV immunizations are available for:

  • Adults 75 years and older
  • Adults 50 to 74 years old who are at increased risk of severe RSV
  • People who are 32 – 36 weeks pregnant between September and January (This helps protect infants born during peak RSV season)

RSV monoclonal antibody administration is available for:

  • Newborns and high-risk infants under 19 months old, from October through March

To schedule your RSV vaccine or monoclonal antibody: Contact your health care provider.
