Visiting a Patient

Visiting hours

We have an open visiting policy for family members – anyone the patient regards as family. However, patient care and adequate patient rest are important.

General visitor hours and guidelines:

To enhance quality of care, each unit has specific visiting hours. Check at the nurses’ station on each unit for visiting hours.
People with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should not visit patients.
Visitors should speak quietly and avoid unnecessary noise.
Smoking or using electronic cigarettes or smokeless tobacco products is not allowed on our campus.
We ask that visitors use sanitizer or soap and water before entering a patient's room and when leaving.
As a visitor, you may be asked to leave the room during tests, treatments or when the care team is seeing the patient.

Patient and visitor parking is available 24/7 in Lots 1, 2, 9 and 12.

Waiting areas

Waiting areas for visitors are located on each patient floor of the hospital, including the Emergency and Surgery departments.

Cafeteria

Beaver Dam

Blue Zones Approved Café is located on the first floor between the main entrance and Hillside Manor. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Monday – Friday: Breakfast 6:45 - 9:15 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., and dinner 4:30 – 7 p.m.
• Weekends and holidays: Dinner 4:30-6 p.m.

Four Seasons Café, located on the lower level of the hospital. Visitors may dine at picnic tables on the patio, located on a terrace just outside of the cafe.
• Breakfast – grab and go items available 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
• All day snacking 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Lunch – hot food 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Eau Claire

Valley Bistro, our café, is located on Level 1. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Open daily from 6:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Ladysmith

Our café, is located on Level 1. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Open Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Marshfield

The hospital's cafeteria is located on ground floor of the north building.
• Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
• Saturday-Sunday: 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Neillsville

Our cafeteria, Common Ground, is located on the lower level. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Monday – Friday: Hot meal service - Noon-1:30 p.m.

Park Falls

The Park Falls Café is located on the lower level. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Monday – Friday: 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Hot food is available for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Rice Lake

Our café is located on the ground level. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
• Weekends and holidays: 6:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Weston

The hospital restaurant is located on ground floor. “Grab and go” items are available.
• Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Weekends and holidays: 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Vending: Beverage and snacks

Beaver Dam

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near the Blue Zones Approved Café, which is on the first floor between the main entrance and Hillside Manor. Hours located in “Cafeteria” section above.

Eau Claire

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near the Emergency Department waiting room on Level 1.

Marshfield

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near the hospital café on the ground floor and on Floor 2 near the family waiting room.

Café 1916 is available near the main entrance.
• Open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• They have Starbucks coffee and beverages and “Grab and go” items are available.

Minocqua

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near the Emergency Department waiting room on Level 1.

Neillsville
Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near the cafeteria and in the emergency department waiting area.

Park Falls

Vending is available in the hallway near the main entrance. Complimentary coffee is available in visitor waiting areas when the cafeteria is open.

Rice Lake

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located on the ground level near the hospital conference rooms. Coffee is provided in some visitor waiting areas.

Stevens Point

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located on the first floor near the general waiting area.

Weston

Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located near waiting rooms throughout the hospital.

A Coffee Kiosk is located on Floor 1 near Entrance 4, the main hospital entrance. The Coffee Kiosk offers a selection of Starbucks coffee, lattes and teas. Hours: Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to noon.

Other policies

Cellphone use is allowed on the medial campus. However, we do ask you to be considerate when using them.

Weapons and firearms are prohibited from all Marshfield Clinic Health System locations.

Smoking, using electronic cigarettes or smokeless tobacco products, is not allowed in the hospital or on hospital grounds. We are committed to promoting health and wellness for our patients, visitors and staff.
