Denise Toperzer, a nurse practitioner with 20 years of experience, has joined Marshfield Clinic Eau Claire Center’s Internal Medicine Department.
Toperzer recently began seeing patients at the Clinic, and brings with her a wealth of health care knowledge that will benefit patients. She worked for 14 years as a nurse practitioner at Hutchinson Medical Center in urgent care and occupational medicine. She also spent 10 years at Hutchinson Community Hospital and three years at Logistics Health in La Crosse.
“I’ve worked in a variety of health care settings. I accepted this opportunity with Marshfield Clinic to build a primary care practice where I can get to know my patients and help them maintain or improve their overall health,” she said.
She has advanced training in occupational medicine and collaborative rural medicine. Toperzer said she was attracted to Marshfield Clinic because of the organization’s national reputation in pioneering technological advances, such as electronic medical records.
A Milwaukee native, she earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1983, and her master’s degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 1998.
Toperzer has participated in annual medical relief missions to Guatemala and wants to continue those efforts with the Clinic. Her husband, Steve Toperzer, works at Hutchinson Technology in Eau Claire. They live in Altoona and have four children.
