Grand opening of Marshfield Medical Center-Park Falls planned for Sept. 9

Aug. 29, 2025

PARK FALLS, WI – The public is invited to the Marshfield Medical Center-Park Falls grand opening celebration, 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9.

The $35 million hospital replacement project is supported by a $20 million grant Gov. Tony Evers awarded in 2022 through the Healthcare Infrastructure Capital Grant Program to address the Marshfield Medical Center-Park Fall's aging infrastructure, improve outdated inpatient rooms, and bring new pharmacy services to the hospital.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in August 2024 including adding new spaces for physical and occupational therapy, inpatient and remote dispensing pharmacies, and an 11-bed med-surg hospital unit.

Phase 2 of the hospital replacement project is expected to be completed within the next month. This includes new spaces for several rehabilitation services, a new cafe and food & nutrition services, conference rooms and support space. Recent construction milestones include completing and opening the new Lab and installation of window-walls in the dining area. Other interior finishes and exterior work are nearing completion.

“The progress we've made in Phase 2 is a testament to our commitment to providing best-in-class health care" said Ty Erickson, president of Marshfield Medical Center hospitals in Park Falls and Minocqua. “This project will significantly enhance our ability to serve the community with modern, state-of-the-art facilities."

Remarks will be made by Ty Erickson, President, Marshfield Medical Center-Park Falls, Dr. Brian Hoerneman, President and CEO of the Marshfield Clinic Region of Sanford Health, Park Falls Mayor Tara Tervort and local/state government leaders. A time capsule display and covering, and ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Park Falls Chamber of Commerce will also take place.
